The Feast of the Three Hierarchs
25th - 26th January 2025
Με επιτυχία ολοκληρώθηκαν και φέτος οι εορταστικές εκδηλώσεις του σχολείου και της κοινότητάς μας για την γιορτή των τριών Ιεραρχών και των Ελληνικών και χριστιανικών γραμμάτων.
Το Σάββατο 25 Ιανουαρίου τελέστηκε πανηγυρικός εσπερινός πρωτοστατούντος του Σεβασμιότατου Αρχιεπίσκοπου Θυατείρων και Μεγάλης Βρετανίας κ. Νικήτα. Ακολούθησε ομιλία από τον ακαδημαϊκό Δρ Ναπολέοντα Γκάτσο με θέμα την σημασία εκμάθησης της Ελληνικής γλώσσας.
Την Κυριακή 26 Ιανουαρίου πραγματοποιήθηκε θεία λειτουργία, στο πέρας της οποίας μαθητές και μαθήτριες το σχολείου μας παρουσίασαν αφιέρωμα με θέμα το έργο των τριών αγίων και τα Ελληνικά χριστιανικά γράμματα. Τα παιδιά μοίρασαν στα μέλη της κοινότητας κατασκευές που φιλοτέχνησαν κατά τη διάρκεια των μαθημάτων - μαγνητάκια με σοφά λόγια των Τριών Ιεραρχών και σελιδοδέκτες.
Επίσης έγινε η απονομή των πιστοποιητικών GCSE και A level στους επιτυχόντες μαθητές μας.
Ευχόμαστε οι Άγιοι Τρεις Ιεράρχες να πρεσβεύουν για το σχολείο και την κοινότητά μας.
Our school and community celebrated with great success the feast of the three Hierarchs and Greek and Christian letters with a series of festive events.
On Saturday, January 25, His Eminence Archbishop of Thyateira and Great Britain, Mr. Nikitas presided over the vespers. This was followed by a speech by Professor Napoleon Gatsos on the benefits of learning the Greek language.
On Sunday, January 26, a divine service was held, at the end of which our school presented a tribute on the work of the three saints and Greek Christian letters. Our students who succeeded in last year’s GCSE and A level exams received their certificates.
May the Holy Three Hierarchs advocate for our school and community.
OHI Day
27th October 2024
Την Κυριακή 27 Οκτωβρίου, η κοινότητα και το σχολείο μας τίμησαν τη γιορτή της σημαίας και την Εθνική Επέτειο της 28ης Οκτωβρίου, τον αγώνα του έθνους μας για ελευθερία κι εθνική ανεξαρτησία κατά τον δεύτερο παγκόσμιο πόλεμο. Μετά το τέλος της θείας λειτουργίας, οι μαθητές του σχολείου μας συμμετείχαν στην καθιερωμένη παρέλαση και δοξολογία και παρουσίασαν ποιήματα, τραγούδια και δραματοποίηση στην κοινοτική αίθουσα. Ευχαριστούμε θερμά όλους τους γονείς, φίλους και μέλη της κοινότητας και του σχολείου για τη συμμετοχή τους και στήριξη τους.
On Sunday 27th October, our community and school celebrated the ‘OHI day’, the struggle of our nation for national independence and freedom during World War II. At the end of the church service, our school pupils took part in the flag procession and doxology, and then performed their poems, songs and drama. It was lovely to see so many of our parents, members and friends of our community and school, and we thank you all for your attendance and support.
End of Year School Show
Σχολική Γιορτή Λήξης
Την Κυριακή 7 Ιουλίου πραγματοποιήθηκε και φέτος με επιτυχία τη γιορτή λήξης της σχολικής χρονιάς. Οι μαθητές μας παρουσίασαν με χαρά τραγούδια, ποιήματα και πεζά με θέμα το καλοκαίρι και χόρεψαν νησιώτικούς δημοτικούς χορούς. Ιδιαίτερη θέση κατείχαν ποιήματα και τραγούδια για την Κύπρο, με αφορμή τη θλιβερή επέτειο των 50 χρόνων από την τουρκική εισβολή στην μεγαλόνησο. Οι μαθητές μας έλαβαν τα βραβεία τους για τις επιδόσεις τους αυτή τη σχολική χρονιά. Η σχολική επιτροπή ευχαρίστησε τις εκπαιδευτικούς για την αφοσίωση και συμβολή στην πρόοδο των μαθητών, καθώς και όλους τους άμισθους εθελοντές που συνέβαλαν το πολύπλευρο έργο του σχολείου.
Ευχόμαστε σε όλους καλό καλοκαίρι!
End of Year Show
On Sunday 7 July, our school organised successfully this year’s end-of-year show. Our students presented proudly songs, poems and prose with a summer theme. As this year marks 50 years from the Turkish invasion of Cyprus, poems and songs were dedicated to the island. Our students received their awards for their achievements this academic year. The school committee thanked the teachers for their dedication to their work and their contribution to our pupils’ progress; it also thanked all unpaid volunteers who behind the scenes contribute to the multifaceted work of the school.
Our best wishes for a relaxing summer!

Cyprus 1974
I know - I do not forget - I claim On the occasion of the sad 50th anniversary of the Turkish invasion of Cyprus, our school has organized a series of educational activities to inform and raise awareness among students. Our students were taught the historical events and consequences of the invasion, recited poems and crafted projects on the theme of Cyprus and the occupied territories. Through these activities, they learned not only about the long-standing culture and history of the megalonia, but also about the need for a fair settlement of the problem. Special thanks to our former school parent and community member sir. Sofronia Anastasiou, who spoke to the children about her personal experience of the Turkish invasion. The Mrs. Sofronia was just seven years old when she experienced the cruelty of persecution and refugee after being forced to leave her ancestral lands, the village of Assa, in northern Cyprus. We also warmly thank the Cyprus Education Mission which shared with us a rich educational material, and our teachers who edited the related activities. Cyprus 1974 – I don’t forget On the occasion of the remembrance of the 50 years from the Turkish invasion of Cyprus, our school organized a series of educational activities aimed at raising awareness. Our students learnt about the events and tragic consequences of the Turkish invasion, recited relevant poems and crafted Cyprus-themed activities. Through these activities they learned not only about the civilization and history of Cyprus, but also the pressing need for a just solution to the Cyprus problem. A special thank you to our former Greek school parent and community member Mrs Sophronia Anastasiou who shared with the children her personal experience of the Turkish invasion. Mrs Sophronia was only seven years old when she was forced to abandon her homeland, the village Assa of northern Cyprus, and thus experienced the hardship of becoming a refugee. We also thank the Cyprus Educational Mission who provided us with rich educational resources, and all our teachers who oversaw our school’s activities. We wait day and night for a wind to blow 'when the place pon' burnt g'in never cool, to rise we wait for the light of the day ponna brings to everyone jai haran jai pospasian.

Easter Workshop

In preparation for Easter, our school organised an Easter activities workshop, in which our pupils enthusiastically participated!
Our pupils decorated their own Easter candles (symbols of the light of the Resurrection) and dyed Easter eggs (which symbolise life and joy). They also baked traditional ‘lazarakia’ for St Lazarus day (recipe kindly shared with us by the Cyprus Educational Mission). Our Father Michael showed children and their parents how to make Holy Bread for the sanctification.
From all of us at the Greek school, our warm wishes for a happy and blessed Easter.
Εν αναμονή του Πάσχα ο μαθητές μας και φέτος συμμετείχαν με ενθουσιασμό σε παραδοσιακές δραστηριότητες που διοργάνωσε το σχολείο μας. Τα παιδιά στόλισαν τις αναστάσιμες λαμπάδες τους (σύμβολο του φωτός της Ανάστασης) κι έβαψαν κόκκινα αυγά (σύμβολα ζωής και χαράς). Επίσης έπλασαν παραδοσιακά ‘λαζαράκια’ (συνταγή της Κυπριακής Εκπαιδευτικής Αποστολής). Ο παπα-Μιχάλης έδειξε στους μαθητές και τους γονείς τους πώς γίνεται το πρόσφορο για τη θεία λειτουργία.
Ευχόμαστε ολόψυχα σε όλους καλή Ανάσταση κι ευλογημένο Πάσχα.
School Celebration

On Sunday 26th March, our Community and School commemorated the Annunciation of Virgin Mary and the national days of 25th March 1821 and 1st April 1955, which mark the struggles of Greece and Cyprus for freedom and national independence. After the flag procession and doxology in the church, our school pupils performed their poems, songs and traditional Greek dances at the community hall. The honorary consul of Greece Mrs Rania Giannoudi honoured with her presence our celebrations.
We thank all parents, members and friends of our community and school for their participation and support.
Την Κυριακή 20 Μαρτίου, η κοινότητα και το σχολείο μας τίμησαν τον Ευαγγελισμό της Θεοτόκου και τις εθνικές επετείους της 25ης Μαρτίου 1821 και 1ης Απριλίου 1955, που σήμαναν τους αγώνες της Ελλάδας και της Κύπρου για ελευθερία κι εθνική ανεξαρτησία. Μετά το πέρας της μαθητικής παρέλασης και δοξολογίας, οι μαθητές του σχολείου μας παρουσίασαν ποιήματα, τραγούδια και παραδοσιακούς ελληνικούς χορούς στην κοινοτική αίθουσα. Τον εορτασμό τίμησε με την παρουσία της η επίτιμη πρόξενος της Ελλάδας κ. Ράνια Γιαννούδη.
Ευχαριστούμε θερμά τους γονείς, φίλους και μέλη της κοινότητας και του σχολείου για τη συμμετοχή και στήριξή τους. Χρόνια πολλά!
World Book Day

Σαν διαβάζω ένα βιβλίο
οι φτερούγες μου είναι δύο
και πετώ ψηλά ψηλά.
Πιο ψηλά κι από τον Άρη
απ΄ τον ήλιο, απ΄ το φεγγάρι
απ΄ τ΄ αστέρια τα πολλά.
Το σχολείο μας διοργάνωσε και φέτος εκδηλώσεις για την ημέρα παιδικού βιβλίου. Οι μαθητές μας μίλησαν στους συμμαθητές τους για τα αγαπημένα τους ελληνικά βιβλία και ντύθηκαν όπως οι αγαπημένοι τους χαρακτήρες. Μπράβο σας!
Our school once again took part in world book day activities. Our pupils spoke to their friends about their favourite greek books and dressed up as their best-loved characters. Well done!
International Greek Language Day
9th February 2023
What do the words music, school, angel, dinosaur, history, maths, geography, star, airplane, astronaut, drama, Bible, have in common?
On the occasion of the International Greek Language Day (chosen as the 9th of February to coincide with the commemoration day of the Greek national poet Dionysios Solomos), our school organised a series of educational activities to celebrate the history of our language and its contribution to world civilisation for over 3 millennia. Inspired by their teachers, our pupils participated in a range of educational activities and explored the Greek roots of many commonly used English words.
We thank all those involved in taking us to this wonderful journey of inspiration and discovery of our language and roots.

''Τους τρεις μεγίστους φωστήρες της Τρισηλίου Θεότητος...''
Το σχολείο μας ‘’Οι Τρεις Ιεράρχες’’ τίμησε και φέτος τη μνήμη των τριών αγίων Ιεραρχών που αφιέρωσαν τη ζωή τους στα ελληνικά και χριστιανικά γράμματα και τη φιλανθρωπία. Στο τέλος της θείας λειτουργίας, στην οποία χοροστάτησε ο Σεβασμιότατος Μητροπολίτης Κολωνίας Αθανάσιος, μίλησαν για το έργο των αγίων και τη σημασία της παιδείας μαθητές του σχολείου μας. Με την ευκαιρία των εορταστικών εκδηλώσεων, το σχολείο μας είχε την τιμή να υποδεχθεί την κ. Μαρία Λοή, Προϊσταμένη της Κυπριακής Εκπαιδευτικής Αποστολής, την κ. Ειρήνη Βερώνη, σύμβουλο εκπαίδευσης της Ελληνικής Πρεσβείας στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο και την κ. Ισμήνη Χατζηγιάννη, συντονίστρια εκπαίδευσης από την Ιερά Αρχιεπισκοπής Θυατείρων και Μεγάλης Βρετανίας. Οι επισκέπτριές μας μίλησαν με μαθητές, εκπαιδευτικούς και μέλη της σχολικής επιτροπής κι ενημερώθηκαν για το πολύπλευρο έργο του σχολείου μας.
Ευχόμαστε οι Άγιοι Τρεις Ιεράρχες να πρεσβεύουν για το σχολείο και την κοινότητά μας. Και του χρόνου με υγεία!
Our Greek school ‘’The Three Hierarchs’’ honoured on the 29th of January its patron saints who devoted their lives to the Greek and Christian letters and to charitable causes. After the end of the Divine Liturgy, which was honoured by the presence of His Eminence the Metropolitan of Cologne Athanasios, our school pupils gave a presentation about the work of the saints and about the value of education. On the occasion of our school celebrations, we were honoured by the visit of Mrs Maria Loi, Head of the Cyprus Educational Mission, Mrs Eirini Veroni, education counsellor of the Embassy of Greece in the U.K., and Mrs Ismini Chatzigianni, education coordinator from the Holy Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain. Our visitors met our pupils, teachers and school committee members and were updated on the multifaceted work of our school.
